03 / THE PHILIA SOPHIA SKETCHBOOK
Following
the imagination.
Before there was a story, there was a drawing. The Philia Sophia Sketchbook began as an experiment in Active Imagination: setting conscious planning aside and allowing images to emerge.
Made by hand with ink and alcohol markers, these explorations of symbolism, dreams, and mythology eventually revealed the beginnings of my fictional worlds.
04 / BEHIND THE WORK
Artist. Storyteller.
Always imagining.
I’m Eric Young, a writer and illustrator drawn to mythology, ancient history, and humanity’s search for meaning.
My work moves between traditional painting, character design, symbolic illustration, and sequential storytelling. I’m currently writing and illustrating Empire of Giants, an original dark fantasy graphic novel series.
My comic work also includes contributions to Cthulhu Is Hard to Spell: “The Eternal War” and “The Psalm of Azathoth.”
